JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A metro-area woman wins a brand-new car in the middle of the Zippity Doo Dah Weekend, and the proceeds go toward helping children all over Mississippi.

It's called the Patty Peck Doo Dah Day Blue Car Giveaway, and it kicked off before the parade in Fondren Saturday evening.

For ten dollars, anyone could get a chance to win a 2015 Honda Civic.

After organizers announced ten finalists and let them choose from ten different keys, each person then tried to unlock a treasure chest with that key to win the prize.

Stephanie Marie Robertson of Jackson -- the eighth finalist -- unlocked the bounty and won the car.

She said she only bought two tickets to win.

"We come to the Sal and Mookie's Carnival and Parade every year and big supporters of Blair E. Batson. I'm completely shocked. I'm so excited. I had no idea," Robertson said.

The proceeds from the drawing go toward Friends of Children's Hospital, which benefits the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
