A man was shot in the chest about 1:30 p.m. on Abraham Lincoln Drive, said Jackson Police Department spokeswoman Officer Colendula Green. The man, whose name has not been released, was killed, Green said.

Another man had barricaded himself inside a house, Green said. The standoff ended later, police said.

"All I know is that there was an argument this morning, I left home and I wasn't gone 10 minutes before I saw the paramedics and a fire truck heading in my direction," said an unidentified neighbor.
