PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a Harrison County sheriff's deputy and his K-9 partner were hurt during a high-speed chase.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1o5LfKl) 23-year-old Dillon Suddeth, of Long Beach, was arrested Sunday around 11:30 a.m.
Chief Deputy Landi Phillips said the deputy tried to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen by the Pass Christian police. The driver wouldn't stop for the officer and the driver turned into a driveway.
Phillips said Suddeth turned the vehicle around and sped toward the officer and his canine. The officer fired two rounds, missing Suddeth but hitting the vehicle.
Suddeth was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and one count of felony malicious mischief. He also faces charges in Pass Christian.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
