Jackson County selects harbor master - Mississippi News Now


OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Jackson County has hired former Ocean Springs Alderman Danny Jalanivich as harbor master for the county's Ocean Springs Harbor.


The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1sZtqx1 ) Jalanivich has been on the Harbor Commission for about five years. County Administrator Brian Fulton says he was the candidate with the best knowledge of the harbor.


Jalanivich is a contractor and built the Harbor Landing boat shed at the harbor.


The county human resources department says five candidates were interviewed.
