An adult 5K Run/Tiny Tot Walk kicked off Saturday morning on the Jackson campus.
It was a day of fun educational activities for the kids with safety in mind.
Children toured a fire truck and learned about the duties of firefighters and police officers.
There were games and food and much more.
The annual celebration is a part of the National Association of Education for Young Children.
"We had a police officer come, Officer Friendly. We had the Jackson Fire Department to come so they could show the kids and teach them about fire safety. We had a hoola hoop contest, jump rope contest, One Mile Fun Run, face painting," said event spokesperson Roshunda Allen.
All proceeds go toward Child Development programs and scholarships at Tougaloo College.
