Allen Blackwell finishes 21st in World Cup debut - Mississippi News Now




LA PLAGNE, France (TeamUSA.org) - Matt Antoine finished eighth to lead Team USA in a shortened one-heat men's skeleton World Cup race in La Plagne, France this morning. The second run was canceled due to track conditions, which also limited the number of official training runs this week to two instead of the normal six leading into the race.


Markin Dukurs from Latvia secured the victory along with the European Championship title and the track record with a time of 59.77 seconds. Russian Alexander Tretiakov clocked a run time of 1:00.17 for second place, while Latvian Tomass Dukurs was third with a downtime of 1:00.64.

Kyle Tress rebounded from 26th place in last weekend's race with a 14th place today. Tress turned in a run of 1:01.63 after a start of 6.01 seconds.


Allen Blackwell (Jackson, Miss.) finished 21st in his World Cup debut with a start of 6.34 seconds and a downtime of 1:02.24.
