Days of rain blamed for uprooted trees - Mississippi News Now

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A week's worth of rain in Mississippi so saturated the ground in a Jackson neighborhood that it is believed to have caused trees to topple.

Three large trees fell Friday morning on Jackson's Myrtle Street, damaging two cars and two houses.

WAPT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1yDEZiX ) that residents believe days of soaking rain led to the softening of the ground and the uprooting of the trees. The trees were being cut up Friday afternoon and residents were contacting their insurance agents about the damage.
